Podcast #240: Evolution

Have you ever thought about the evolution of neo classical shredders, from back in the day, and how they have evoled into some of today's best blues and jazz guitarists?  Join Genghis and Ragman as they pontificate about how some of their favorite axe wielders have evolved into much more than what they started out like.  If that weren't enough, we caught the boys at their pre concert pizza/beer ritual discussing the upcoming Yngwie Malmsteen performance.  IF that weren't enough, the boys caught up with Brainstorm vocalist Andy B. Doom Asylum

I recently unearthed another cult classic from Arrow video, called Doom Asylum.  It always amazes me as to how many horror flicks, came out in the 80's, that I've never heard of.  Thanks to Arrow, some of these gems have been given a second chance.  Doom Asylum is centered around an asylum that is haunted by the corpse of an undead lawyer.  The asylum is the playing ground for goth bands and teenage debauchery, until they piss off the wrong zombie.

The restoration of Doom Asylum is amazing.  I didn't see the original pressing, but by the looks of this film, it has to look better than the original pressing.  This movie is full of bad acting, bad jokes, and a really bad music, by the all girl goth/industrial band, but other than that it is priceless.  this movie is not to be taken seriously at all.  It is full of tired old gags, but that is what makes it so funny.  This is one of those cult movies, that will be funnier, the more you drink.  Grab a kegger and a bucket of popcorn, and pop this puppy in.

Bottom Line: Another B Horror film brought back to life.  It is fun and entertaining.  You have  to go in to this one with the attitude that is it going to be bad, and you will have a blast.  I hope that makes sense.

-Ragman is getting ready fro Halloween early this year.
