Podcast #127: Hanger
Miss us yet? Join the boys as the discuss their time off for the summer and try to get back into the swing of things (while dreading the possible return of John). After some reminiscing, Genghis and Ragman tackle the topic of whether or not the old guys can still do it or not; which bands still got it, and which veteran bands should hang up the chaps. The guys discuss this and much, much more. Next, the boys catch up with LA Guns guitarist Tracii Guns for a fireside chat, who discusses the band’s latest release Acoustic Gypsy Live as well as their current line up.

Good show guys. Good to hear from Traci Gunns and it seems his next project will have a different name. I wish both camps could get back and be 1 LA Guns as the name alone would be good because they get shows. Traci could open with his new project. A couple of comments on other things. I would love an interview with Tom Lipsky of Loud & Proud. He was also the guy that held it together for our music with CMC records. I just would want to know how Queenryche was allowed to make such a shit album? I loved American Soldier as it was a return to form. This should have been a Geoff solo effort that would suck as bad as his first. He goes out of his way to alienate QR fans and the name itsefl. Saraya was an awesome girl band. Sandi Saraya on Back To The Bullet gave me carpel tunnel but she can really sing. The second album was ballsy because it was less pop and more rock. I have a live video from NY from back in the day and she is great live. On youtube look up Sandi Saraya Livin on a Prayer where she sings with her church. Sadly she was to reunite at Firefest last year but at the last minute was asking for a crazy amount of money ans other stuff that she backed out. Kevin Shirley has not lost it. I caught some flak at MR.com rom the Journey fanboys as I don't like this record because I don't mind some change but its like Jonathan Cain keys are not present. Neil as said in interviews "I had to fight to make this what I wanted". Well my opinion is you hire a producer because of what they help bands prior to bring out. Look at the new Mr Big..awesome. Even Glen Hughes said he would stop Glen when he got to funky or R&B and get him back on a rock track. So why did Journey hire KS if Neil wanted what he wanted. Why fight with KS if you don't want his imput?
That was a great interview. Thanks
