Arena acts will be extinct except for the 1 or 2 years a "flash in the pan" pop artist is playing them. So if you are Lady Gaga and you have a 5 year shelf life then you may play arenas. Unless all involved change the mindset in the music business we will never see it with a new act. Reasons...Lables no longer look at an act as a "long term investment" Imagine the long term money you have made with Iron Maiden or KIss! Labels need to look at rock under a different light than pop music. Rock develops over time and the music in general has staying power. Also Labels need to push radio to play new music by new and old acts. Also they need to look at what "real people" want not a focus group. Take the news of Whitesnake and Britney Spears with WS have a ton more preorders than the slut on Amazon. Sure Amazon is one of many ways people get music but it is a big one! Labels Radio and other music outlets need to see this and push the Whitesnake as it shows people are interested. More sales = more touring...bigger venues....more jobs when the show is in town.

Also G the new Yngwie album sucks ass. Under produced...self indulgent and a waste of Ripper Owens and now Y thinks hes a singer. Same old stuff over and over. The guy had Roy Z last time out and he is the only old act that handcuffed him and hired him.

Not surprised to tell you the truth. Yngwie hasn't put out a good album in a while. He's the shit when it comes to neo-classical technique, but you just can't keep putting out the same music all the time. It gets old. As for your points on arenas, I think you're dead on.

HORNS UP!

- Genghis is itchin' for a little Blackstar right about now...
