Podcast #149: Cover'd
You've heard us talk about cover songs before, but what about the so-called tribute albums that revolve around the work of a given band, usually featuring some amazing collaboration between some of your favorite artists who rarely get to work with each other? It's like forming a supergroup for one song on an album of other supergroups! Join Genghis & Ragman as they discuss some of their favorite tribute covers, inlcuding the direct hits and dismal misses. Next, the boys are paid a visit from Colin [AKA Mayor McCheese], who discusses his latest...proceedings.

I agree, change it up, cover another genre, a la Children of Bodom. To many of those tribute albums are too straight down the line to be worthwhile, and often wasting the particpants talents.
In other news, Extreme cancelled their tour, but we have Van Halen soon playing a festival, nothing else on the line up of note, its bizzare. No other shows announced as a spin off so we are doubtful they will show. The Stu continues to attend everything that moves, sings or shreds.
Try Karl Strauss Red Trolley Ale from San Diego....had some over the weekend. Nice malty brew.
Thanks for the tip, GD, we'll see about gettin' our hands on some of that ale. Yeah, aside from Firewind coming to town this weekend, there's not a lot going on in the world of live shows over here either. Where's the metal?
HORNS UP!
- Genghis is pretty sure he won't be able to get Rags to join him at Firewind...
