Podcast #124: Coward

Sebastian Bach's just not looking like he used to these days.Is it a cop-out when an established artist decides to just release singles in lieu of a full length CD? Some may say it's "cowardly". If the artist doesn’t seem to have enough faith in the music they're creating, then why should they put it out? Join Genghis and Ragman as they discuss the artists that are taking the easy way out, as well as the ones that are still making it happen. Prepare yourself for audio awesomeness as the boys discuss this topic and more...

Totally disagree with your views on the single as you guys went a little off target and didn't bring out other facts. Look Queensryche are shot! They have sucked for so long with new material. But with American Soldier it was the first thing they did right in years. They took a topic thru Geoff dad and made songs around it. This is what they do best. So whether they do full albums or a single if its like the latest realease it will suck either way.
Also Tommy Lee he should not be the view on whos a coward. Look MC can make a full album...sell it to the hardcore fans and at the worst break even...then make a shit load of money on tour. But to there defense they only played the song Saints Of LA on the tour. Now don't you think they can sell one single of that if they said..." if you dig the next song pick it up in ITUnes for .99 cents" as opposed to the casual fan buying the whole thing?

Also how many great bands have made us wait years for new stuff? Now in between gigs if a band has a killer track they can rent a few hours studio time...crank it out and put it on ITunes! If its a band I follow I will buy it. I will buy either full albums or singles whichever my favs do. But again we all play a sort of "Mixed tape" on our pods of killer tracks...ala singles so its not a stretch.

True artist need to make better albums. But for those running out of ideas I would rather 1 or 2 killer songs than 8 other duds. Also recently Ted Poley released a single of "Breathe" on ITunes. On Talking Metal they asked if it would be on a full albums. He said this was his way of seeing how a sinlge does for him. At the time of the podcast he didn't get his statement. I would love to know the results in relation to his full digital sales?
