Podcast #139: What If...

Gus G's legato runs and sweep-picking? It's all greek to me! Yeah, we went there. What if some of our fallen metal heroes were still alive and what might they be doing today? Would Randy Rhoads still be playing metal, would Hendrix still be ripping things up or re-inventing himself? Join Genghis and Ragman as they discuss this "What If..." topic and much more. Next, Firewind/Ozzy Ozbourne guitarist, Gus G, calls in to chew the fat with the boys, discussing Firewind’s latest release Few Against Many, as well as what it's like playing with the Prince of Darkness.

Listening now. I agree with Chickenfoot. Its OK but there is nothing like "Why can't this be Love" coming out of the gate and kicking your ass. I like Fleetwood Mac. LB is very underated but that s because he is "about the song" not the shit I can do. Rick Springfield is also like that. Great interview!

Thanks for the kudos, Snake.

HORNS UP!

- Genghis can't think of any clever statements for this line...

Thanks, Snake. Yeah, I've always been a fan of those two as guitarists for their understated musicianship. You gotta figure that's a hard road to travel since it involves ignoring your ego.

The Gus G interview was actually an interesting one in that the wires got crossed on when we were supposed to talk to him and we ended up missing our interview time by almost an hour. When I finally got a hold of him, he was like "I actually was about to leave for a live interview, but I can spare some time. How long do you need?" and I was like "We'll take whatever you got, man. It's up to you", and we were able to talk to him for about 15 minutes and even got some bumpers out of him. He was a very gracious guy.

HORNS UP!

- Genghis learned his lesson about checking and double checking interview times...
