Podcast #156: Maestro
What's the state of the instrumental guitarist market these days? In an ever more challenging market can a guy make it on his own as an instrumentalist? Join Genghis and Ragman as they discuss these challenges making it as a solo artist. Speaking of which, the lads caught newcomer Ethan Brosh and his band opening for The Maestro, Yngwie Malmsteen live in H-town and give you the skinny on the show and more - including an interview with Ethan who discusses his latest solo effort, Live the Dream, and his 80s-tinged band project Burning Heat. The Bonus Plan: We briefly chatted with New York prog group Martyrd between sets as well. It's a 7th anniversary blow out!

You gentlemen have lifted your pace of output to that of a pair of podcasting virtuosos. You may need my representation.
Is it true John has auditioned to sing on an Yngwie Malmsteen album?
I think I heard about that somewhere?
Don't get too excited. You may have noticed that Rags does this all the time; when we come back from our summer sabbatical he blows his whole show backlog wad, releasing a show a week instead of portioning them out. Then when they're all gone, it's weeks before a new one.
You just can't get good help these days.
HORNS UP!
- Genghis is feeling a little guilty for throwing Rags under the bus just now...
It's entirely possible. And the blatant display of inappropriate flesh between Yngwie's unbuttoned shirts and John's jock strap ensemble must have been revolting.
- Genghis can't seem to stop shuddering...
